Sumalta (सुमल्टा) is a village in Karnaprayag tehsil of Chamoli district in the Garhwal division of Uttarakhand, India. It lies at roughly 1,253 metres above sea level, in the middle hills belt of Garhwal. As the crow flies it is about 120 km from Dehradun and 20 km from Gopeshwar, the district headquarters.
