Tehri (टिहरी) is a village in Tehri Garhwal district in the Garhwal division of Uttarakhand, India. It lies at roughly 669 metres above sea level, in the lower river valleys belt of Garhwal. As the crow flies it is about 44 km from Dehradun and 5 km from New Tehri, the district headquarters. The nearest town is New Tehri (5 km). Tehri has its own post office, Tehri HO (PIN 249001).

About Tehri Garhwal district
Tehri Garhwal was the seat of the old Tehri princely state. Today it is known for the Tehri dam lake, New Tehri town, Chamba, the Dhanaulti and Kanatal hills, the Surkanda Devi and Kunjapuri temples, and the Bhilangana and Bhagirathi valleys.
