About Almora district
Almora district is often called the cultural heart of Kumaon. Almora town was the capital of the Chand kings, and the district is home to the Jageshwar temple group, the cantonment town of Ranikhet, Binsar wildlife sanctuary and Kumaon’s famous bal mithai.
