About Nainital district
Nainital district stretches from the Bhabar plains around Haldwani and Lalkuan up to the lake country of Nainital, Bhimtal and Sattal and the orchards of Ramgarh and Mukteshwar. Haldwani–Kathgodam is the main gateway to the Kumaon hills, with the railhead at Kathgodam.
