Simalkot is a village in Pithoragarh district in the Kumaon division of Uttarakhand, India. It lies at roughly 1,483 metres above sea level, in the middle hills belt of Kumaon. As the crow flies it is about 71 km from Haldwani and 17 km from Pithoragarh, the district headquarters. The nearest town is Gangolihat (2 km).

Pithoragarh is Kumaon’s easternmost district, bordering Nepal and Tibet. Besides the Soar valley around Pithoragarh town, it includes Munsiyari, Dharchula, the Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave temple near Gangolihat and the Kailash Mansarovar route over the Lipulekh pass.
