Sainj is a village in Dehradun district in the Garhwal division of Uttarakhand, India. It lies at roughly 957 metres above sea level, in the lower river valleys belt of Garhwal. As the crow flies it is about 72 km from Dehradun and 72 km from Dehradun, the district headquarters. The nearest town is Purola (23 km).
