Bachakot (बचकोट) is a village in Kanalichhina tehsil of Pithoragarh district in the Kumaon division of Uttarakhand, India. It lies at roughly 937 metres above sea level, in the lower river valleys belt of Kumaon. As the crow flies it is about 98 km from Haldwani and 19 km from Pithoragarh, the district headquarters. The nearest town is Didihat (17 km). Kanalichhina tehsil has 75 villages listed on My Haldwani.

About Pithoragarh district
Pithoragarh is Kumaon’s easternmost district, bordering Nepal and Tibet. Besides the Soar valley around Pithoragarh town, it includes Munsiyari, Dharchula, the Patal Bhuvaneshwar cave temple near Gangolihat and the Kailash Mansarovar route over the Lipulekh pass.
